Thai National Anthem

If you are here and near a government place, especially school (both private and public), you will hear it twice a day everyday. The national anthem will play when we are raising the national flag at 8am and lowering it at 6pm. When I was a students, I together with all the students in school had to stand on the school yard and sing it every morning while 2 students were working on the flag and then we would be dismissed to the classes.

You might see people stop when hearing it in public. Right, everytime we hear the song we will stop (if walking, running or doing something else) and stand up to show our respects for the nation. Anyhow there are sometimes that we dont stop and stand up such as when sitting in the car or staying in the house, etc.

The lyrics of the national anthem were written in 1939 while the music were composed in 1932 by different persons. And when it had the lyrics the PM at that time launched the law which is still in force today to play it everyday at 8 am and 6pm and order the people to stand up when hearing it.

"Thailand is the unity of Thai blood and body.
The whole country belongs to the Thai people, maintaining thus far for the Thai.
All Thais intend to unite together.
Thais love peace but do not fear to fight.
They will never let anyone threaten their independence.

their country with pride and prestige full of victory.
